Our main goal as #resumewriters is to write an easy-to-read resume that not only takes into account an applicant’s skills, work history, or educational background but also best markets the applicant’s candidacy to the job he or she is applying for, higher role application in the future, career shift when desired, and other similar endeavors.

- Your resume should go back no more than 10 to 15 years for your work experience (aka employment history).

- It's best to avoid using bright colors for your resume as they can be perceived as unprofessional.

- The five most important parts of a resume are the following:

contact details (aka contact information), resume introduction (aka profile summary), work experience (aka employment history), skills (aka expertise, you can also include the apps that you have mastered), and education (aka educational background).

- Resumes should be two-three pages long only. A one-page resume is definitely a scene-stealer.

- It's now recommended to avoid adding a photo to your resume. Photos can be requested if and only if you apply in the foodservice industry and tourism industry. 

- Under each job, you can include two to four bullet points that outline the previous duties you have performed.

- You can list between 5 and 10 skills on a resume. You can list 5 soft skills and 5 hard skills. 

NOTE: 

A resume is usually a one-page summary of your work experience and background relevant to the job you are applying to.
A CV is a longer academic diary that includes all your experience, certificates, and publications.
